Pregnancy — Natural & Healthy

How To Have A Healthy Pregnancy

Planned or not, there is no denying that pregnancy is a natural event for a woman, and one that her body is beautifully built for. The relationship between the fetus and a woman's body is unique and mutually beneficial. The fetus is well buffered and nurtured within the womb. At the same time, the natural cycle of hormones that occur throughout a woman's pregnancy has been noted in many studies to be beneficial to her short term and long term health. The benefits can be both emotional and physical.

The natural ending of pregnancy is birth. It is the completion of this cycle of pregnancy hormones that is so beneficial to a woman. Indeed, it seems that the interruption of this process, either by miscarriage or termination of the pregnancy, may cause future health risks.

In the short term, women have reported better skin, thicker hair and emotional peace. Some women have even had temporary relief from chronic illnesses, such as arthritis, psoriasis, and asthma.(1)

In the long term, women have statistically been shown to have better emotional and mental health, an improved outcome for future pregnancies and a potential reduction in the risk of certain diseases such as cancer, which are further discussed in other pages of this website more specifically.

In short, despite the worry that can come with unplanned pregnancy, there are significant benefits for the woman by carrying her pregnancy to term that she may want to consider and that may give her great comfort should she chose to continue with her pregnancy.
